05 – DISCOVERY OF BATS AND RIVER MUSSELS IN THE MAGIC MOUNTAINS - CANCELLED

The Montemuro mountain and the Paiva river valley, both SIC of the Natura 2000 Network, house an exemplary biodiversity that is being studied, protected and conserved.

The discovery of the wild fauna of these natural spaces begins with a guided visit to the Interpretation and Information Center of Montemuro and Paiva, followed by a tour through the Montemuro mountain where, besides the magnificent landscapes, you will have the opportunity to visit an important refuge for several species of cave bats. Already on the banks of the Paiva river you will have the opportunity to observe the river mussels (unio crassus) and know the recent project of reintroduction of this species.

During the day you will have the opportunity to explore other tourist, natural and cultural attractions of the Montemuro mountain and the Paiva valley.
