The Europarc Federation

The EUROPARC Federation is the network for Europe’s natural and cultural heritage. Created by our members, the Federation works, to improve the management of Protected Areas in Europe through international cooperation, exchange of ideas and experience, and by influencing policy.

The Federation has its headquarters in Regensburg (Germany), an office in Brussels (Belgium), active members across Europe and 8 regional and national sections. The EUROPARC Federation is  padedicated to practical nature conservation and sustainable development of Europe’s biodiversity, fostering holistic landscape approaches in its management.

Several projects and programmes, especially related to sustainable tourism, transboundary cooperation and youth involvement in Protected Areas have been developed and implemented since EUROPARC was founded. Moreover, the Federation highly contributes to increase public awareness about Protected Areas and lobbies the European Union institutions towards better environmental policies.

As the biggest network of European Protected Areas, the Federation represents hundreds of organisations responsible for the management of Parks and thousands of Protected Areas and Natura 2000 sites from 37 countries.
